Cookie policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

Cookies and local storage are small pieces of information a website stores in your browser. We use as few as possible. Anything that is not strictly necessary is only loaded after your consent, as the law requires (art. 129 of the Belgian Act of 13 June 2005 on electronic communications and the GDPR).

1. Necessary (always on)

This storage is needed to remember your choices. It contains no personal data and is not shared with anyone.

  • vt-consent — local storage — stores your cookie choice — 12 months
  • vt-theme — local storage — remembers whether you chose the light or dark display — until you clear it

2. Statistics (only with consent)

At the moment we do not use any statistics service. If we add one later, we will list its name, cookies and retention period here, and ask for your consent first via the cookie banner. Our preference is a service without cookies and without personal data (such as Plausible or a self-hosted Matomo).

3. External content (only with consent or after your click)

  • OpenStreetMap map on the contact page: only loads after you click 'Show the map'. The OpenStreetMap Foundation then receives your IP address.
  • Google PageSpeed Insights on the website check page: only contacted when you enter a web address yourself and click 'Check'.
  • Google Fonts: the fonts are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google does not set cookies for this; your IP address is processed to deliver the file.

4. Changing your choice

Click 'Cookie settings' at the bottom of every page to change or withdraw your choice. You can also clear cookies and local storage via your browser settings.

5. Questions
